AJE was born in Ayacucho – Peru, more than 30 years ago. Commitment to the environment and nature, for this company, is part of its DNA. It is the natural environment in which we grew up, in which we grew up and in which we began to take our first steps.
THE FIRST KOLA REAL IS BORN IN AYACUCHO, PERÚ
The Añaños family began producing soft drinks under the Kola Real brand starting with an orange-flavored drink.
WE REACHED NEW CITIES
NEW HEADQUARTERS IN PERÚ. Huancayo in 1991, Bagua in 1993 and Sullana in 1994.
KOLA REAL LLEGA A LA CAPITAL
After almost 10 years, Kola Real was launched in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
THE INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION STARTS
AJE expands to other countries, starting with Venezuela.
AJE ARRIVES IN ECUADOR
In 2000, AJE closed the decade with its incursion in Ecuador installing a factory in Guayaquil.
AJE ARRIVES IN MEXICO
Mexico had the highest per capita consumption of soft drinks in the world. “We think that if the business model in Peru was sustainable, in Mexico it would be sustainable anywhere” – Carlos Añaños
AJE ARRIVES IN CENTRAL AMERICA
Intensified international expansion.
Starting in Costa Rica.

In 2005, AJE enters Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras.
OPENS AN OFFICE IN SPAIN
In 2006, AJE opened a corporative office in Spain.

AJE ARRIVES IN A NEW CONTINENT: ASIA
Opens the first plant in Asia with operations in Tailandia. AJE also starts in El Salvador.
AJE ARRIVES IN COLOMBIA
AJE has turned its attention to the Colombian market and begins its operations with the installation of a plant in Bogotá.
AJE ARRIVES IN PANAMÁ
To solidify its strategy in Central America, AJE begins operations in Panama.
EXPANSION IN THE ASIAN CONTINENT
AJE starts its operations in India, Vietnam and Indonesia on December of 2010.
THE FRANCHISE PROJECTS BEGIN
With its 25th anniversary, AJE begins its operations in Bolivia. In addition, the group starts its first franchise project with its arrival on Reunion Island.
AJE ARRIVES IN A NEW CONTINENT: AFRICA
On September 2015 it starts its operations in Egypt and Nigeria (Franchise) through its brand BIG Cola.
AJE reinforces its international presence thanks to its arrival in Madagascar, Africa’s biggest island and the 4th biggest in the world, situated in front of the Southwest African coast. It also arrives in Bhutan, the Himalayan Kingdom which is the entrance to the north of India.
AJE BECOMES 4TH IN THE MULTILATIN BUSINESS RANKING
The new 100 biggest multilatin business ranking of an international magazine has a Peruvian business on the top 5 again. It’s the recognized AJE, located in the list’s 4th place.
AJE Celebrates its third decade globally.
AJE WINS THE L+1 PRIZE
Promoting conservation between the business and institutional leaders of the countries, the green business platform L+1 gave its 2018 prize to the “Sustainable Machu Picchu” project, developed in Cusco. Thanks to the public-private alliance between the hotel chain Inkaterra, the District Municipality of Macchu Picchu, Alimenta Group and the peruvian beverage multinational AJE.
AJE IS APPOINTED AS "CONSERVATION ALLY"
AJE is recognized for the work it has been doing in the Peruvian jungle through its brand of organic natural drinks called BIO.
